Zeitgeist Four (Qarina)

Me:
Qarina lurks about the Berth deck and Engine Room. The two other engineers head up for the festivities, leaving Fitzcairn in charge of the idled steam engine. The lone guard at the magazine nods at Qarina as the barbarian travels through the berths to sickbay. Sickbay is abandoned. Qarina looks around for anything suspicious…

Zeitgeist Three — All Aboard!

Me:
Blake’s team move into their pre-planned positions to escort the king’s carriage on its journey through Royal Square, across the bridge, into Fleet Square, and finally to a spot between the VIP section and the scaffolding alongside the ship.

With great pomp and grandeur, trumpeters announce the arrival of the king’s carriage. Elite guards line the thoroughfare and open the door, and first the Principal Minister, and then King Aodhan himself emerge. The King offers a one-sided smile to the crowd and is greeted by his sister and also the City Governor Roland Stanfield. Children, gathered in advance by royal aides, cheer and sing the traditional crown anthem as the group makes its way to the docks.

After Malkie’s new friend Mercliffe wanders off, The Special Constabulary Unit starts doing its sweep of the crowd, as outlined in Blake’s original plan. The three subjects taken into custody, Coulton, Iscalio, and Dafton, are being held in a nearby warehouse which the Flint PD is using as an event headquarters.

Occasional carriages make the journey across the Bridge to Fleet Square, disgorging various nobles and other dignitaries to mill about a roped-off VIP area near the docked Coaltongue. The gangplank is currently guarded by sailors and no one is allowed on-board. A scaffolding supports a wooden-plank walkway to the prow of the ship, where the King will christen the ship.

After three weeks of preparations, the day of the big event has finally arrived. Blake, whom Delft has taken to habitually calling “Sergeant Arrington,” has been put in charge of the Special Constabulary Unit, or SCU. Delft makes it clear that any concerns you have with the operation are to be brought up with her first, and to only bother him if she can’t resolve it.

Zeitgeist Zero

It is spring of the year 500 A.O.V. (After Our Victory). Seven years after the end of the Fourth Yerasol War, the shipyards in Flint have completed the first Risuri warship powered solely by steam engine, not sail. Your monarch, King Aodhan, will come to Flint to witness the official launch of this mighty vessel. Wooden hulled but with a heart and skin of iron, the Royal Naval Ship Coaltongue will act as a deterrent against future aggression from Risur’s enemy across the sea, the nation of Danor.

The Royal Homeland Constabulary has been called upon to provide security,
and you will spend the next several weeks working to make sure this event goes off without a hitch—canvassing the docks, performing background checks on the guest list, coordinating with the local police to set up a perimeter around the royal docks, and following various directives of your superiors.
